The Collide-O-Scope...

 

...is an interactive art installation being created by Jessica Runge and her husband, new media developer Arthur Cormack, with choreography by acclaimed choreographer Peter Chin.

The Collide-O-Scope's first installation in June 2009 was a resounding success! Presented at the "Topographies: Bodies, Sites, Technologies" conference in Stanford, CA, the Collide-O-Scope got rave reviews from conference goers of all ages (ages 5 and up). In 2011/12: Jessica Runge continues work on her solo project, "The Possibility Dance," working with guest collaborators Susie Burpee, Deborah Dunn, Susanna Hood, and Heidi Strauss. More details TBA.

Also in 2011: Runge will teach at a number of local school as part of the Ontario Arts Council's Artists in Education program.

RECENT NEWS

In 2010/11: Jessica Runge danced in Peggy Baker's all night "Aleatoria" at Nuit Blanche, an extravagant, all night improvisation involving many fantastic dance-artists and attended by thousands of eager Toronto art consumers! She was featured in Baker's solo "Strand" at the AGO, again, performed to a large, receptive audience. Most recently, Runge performed in Kathleen Rea's t"Unravel," another large work that was a success with audiences.

Last year Runge was also in demand as a teacher, working with the Toronto Board of Education in a variety of capacities (teaching kids, teachers and mentoring youth), as well as mentoring the young choreograpehrs at Pia Bouman's school.
